A Premier Brass Dealer
We are one of the largest brass dealers in the world.
Specifically we are one of the largest brass dealers for Overland Models
Inc., the premier brass importer. We can reserve models or obtain in
stock models from the major brass importers such as Overland, Coach Yard, Division Point,
Key, Railway Classics, etc. We sell both new models from the importers
and also mint models from our customers, which are consigned to us.
High Quality Plastic Models
We sell plastic models from manufacturers such as Atlas, Broadway Limited, Intermountain, Kato,
Proto, Lifelike Canada, Precision Craft Models, T55, True Line Trains, etc. We deal only in first-quality, name-brand products, all of which are priced
very competitively. This has substantially enhanced our world-wide reputation.
Professional Full time Staff
We have a professional staff, working full time, to help service our
customers. Our staff are modelers first, and knowledgeable about the
hobby. We answer your phone calls and emails on a timely basis. If
you do not hear from us within 24 hours, then that indicates a problem with the
telecommunication system used.
Real Time Website
We have one of the largest internet websites, with over 40,000 pictures, to aid our worldwide customer base. With
this website, we conduct an international business, shipping by UPS or Post.
Our typical models have 2 pictures for plastic engines and 8 pictures for a
steam engine. None of our competitors show you models like we do!
Our website is updated continuously each day, with changes in stock
status, new product announcements, new models in stock, etc.
Technology
We have an excellent accounting and reservation system in place.
With this, when you place an order for future models, we email you back with
your reservations. In the event a deposit was taken by us, we show this on
your sales order. When the models arrive, we contact you by phone and
email, to confirm shipping information and payment information. Your
reservation sales order is converted to an invoices, a credit card charged, and
the box is shipped to you via UPS. We email you our invoice, and you
receive a tracking number from UPS via their email system. For consignors,
we email them their purchase orders, showing their consigned model, with our
unique PO number.
Shipping
Whether we serve you through the Internet, by FAX, by telephone, or
at one of the selected train shows we attend, Canadian Model Trains Inc. is hard
to beat for quality model railroad supplies and equipment. We use UPS
ground, UPS expedited (air), Post (ground) or Express Post (air) to ship your
models to you. Due to the volume of shipping we do, UPS has installed
their computers and printers at our premises, with us hooked on-line to their
systems.
Exclusive Projects in brass
and plastic models
We also do our own exclusive projects, in both brass and plastic
models, using manufacturers such as Overland Models Inc., Intermountain,
Lifelike, Rapido Trains & True Line Trains.
Trade Shows
We attend trade shows in Canada and the U.S.
At these shows, we have display cases, where we show over 200 models. These models are all out of their boxes, in fully lit
display cases. This is not the normal dealer display, we do things
differently at CMT! We want to meet our customers and potential new
customers face to face.
Custom Work - Painting and DCC/Sound
We utilize several professional painters who custom paint brass or
plastic models for our customers, either in prototypical paint schemes or in
their own custom name. Likewise for DCC or DCC/sound, you can have this
work done here, by trained competent staff.
Scales
We stock N, HO, O, and G scale products. If we do not have it
in stock, we can order it in for you, in a timely fashion, or have it direct
shipped to you.
US and European Buyers - Taxes
There are no sales tax or duties paid by American customers. We
ship via UPS from an American location, for American customers. For
international customers, we ship from our Canadian location. There is no
sales tax for international customers. Duties are at the discretion of the
receiving country's border & customs service.
