LAYAWAY
Here is the information on our layaway program.
We have in place a program to assist brass or large plastic model
purchasers. In many cases, when the model wanted was available for sale, a
number of customers did not have the cash to purchase it. Consequently, as part
of our business philosophy we wanted to have a program that assisted our
customers. Typically the new brass run sizes are small and sell out quickly, or
older out of production models become available as one of a kind models.
Plastic models are becoming similar to brass in that more and more are limited
run.
Our program allows you to obtain the model you want, at our competitive
prices. What we developed, based on conversations with a number of customers,
was a very flexible deferred payment program.
Payment Plans
For the layaway program, we require a minimum 20% down payment. The
remaining balance needs to be paid off over a period of three months maximum. The payments are tailored to your specific
requirements based on mutual discussions. Unlike other dealers, we do not
require equal monthly payments. If in some month you can make a larger payment,
that is great. We require a minimum of 20% paid each month.
Based upon the discussions between you and us, we agree to a planned
series of payments, in terms of the planned dates and the planned amounts. This
plan is recorded on your layaway invoice. Based on this plan, we then compute
the interest applicable. This interest will then be put on the invoice as a
financing charge.
No layaway program will be started without the planned dates and payments
scheduled.
Interest
Since our prices are already very aggressive, we can't absorb the cost of
financing. For those who take advantage of this program, the first month of
financing is interest free. Any payments made after that time period, we charge a 2% interest rate on the outstanding
balance.
Payment Methods
If you are going to pay by check, then you would send us the post-dated
checks for the planned amounts and scheduled dates. If you are going to pay by
Visa, then we charge your Visa card on the appropriate dates with the applicable
amounts.
Layaway Amounts
There is a maximum amount that can be placed on our layaway program of
$2,000US and the minimum amount to start a plan is $500US.
Cancellation of a Layaway
We strongly encourage customers to complete their layaway program with
payments on the agreed upon date. If a customer chooses to cancel their
layaway we will do so, with a re-stocking fee of 25%. In the event a
layaway is in default for a missed payment, we will contact the customer to have
the situation rectified. In the event of repeated skipped payments or
non-payment for more than 30 days, we reserve the right to cancel the
layaway, at our discretion. There is a re-stocking fee of 35%.
