RESERVATIONS / DEPOSITS:
All brass models are subject to a 10% deposit. Some plastic models are
subject to a minimum 20% deposit. Customers will be informed of the exact
dollar amount when order is placed.
Credit card deposits will be done quickly and reflected on the sales order.
Customers who wish to pay a deposit by check or money order are asked to send
payment promptly.
Deposits are fully refundable until models are released for sale by the
supplier. Once the models are released by the supplier, all cancelled
orders will be subject to a re-stocking fee equivalent to the deposit taken for
the item.
Upon receipt of the models from the supplier or we are informed of their pending
arrival via Pickup Notice, all customers who have a model on
order will be contacted via email and/or phone. Payment for these models
in full is due at the time of contact. If payment is not made within 2
weeks, what we consider a
reasonable period, then the reservation is in default. The model will be
re-stocked and the deposit forfeited. It will then be available for anyone
to purchase.
If you wish to pay at a later date, after the 2 week grace period, then a
financing fee will be charged on your model.
Overland Reservations: Overland has some very specific rules that
we as a dealer and you as the customer must abide by. A 10% deposit is
asked for at the time of reservation. Overland will send us a Pick Up
Notice when the models are ready at the factory in Korea. We contact our
customers who have them on order for full payment. We then pay Overland in
full for our Pick Up Notice and the models are shipped from the factory.
Once the models arrive at Overland, they are tested and shipped out to us or our
U.S. based customers directly.
IN STOCK ORDERS:
All orders placed for in stock items must be paid in full upon placing
the order.
SHIP W.O.G. (Ship With Other Goods)
Orders paid in full may be
placed on our Ship W.O.G. (Ship With Other Goods) shelf for up to a maximum of three
months if you have additional models on reservation. The items on the
Ship W.O.G.
shelves will be shipped when the pending orders arrive.
If you do not have any other reservations you can not place a model on our
Ship W.O.G. shelves.
If you require us to hold an order for a specific reason, such as vacation, please let us know and we will ship on the specific date you specify.
Since we do not know the specific due dates for future models, we will notify you that we will be shipping the models on our Ship W.O.G. shelf three months after the order has been placed on the shelves.
Ship W.O.G. orders will have a shipping charge included on the original invoice. This is the charge to ship that particular order. When additional models arrive and are shipped with the W.O.G. order, only the incremental shipping charge will be included on your new invoice.
The specific order you are waiting for will be noted on your W.O.G. invoice. This way if the manufacturer is delayed in releasing the model you are waiting for we will be able to hold your W.O.G. order longer. Delays by the manufacturer are not the customer’s fault and you should not have to pay additional shipping costs because of this.
If the model you are waiting for is not due out for more than three months we can not W.O.G. your order. We provide due dates in our CMT Flashes and on our website based on the most recent information from our suppliers & manufacturers.
RETURNING DAMAGED ITEMS:
Returns will only be authorized within 30 days of the shipping date on
the invoice.
With any product that is defective, the manufacturer's warranty process must be
followed.
If an item is received damaged or unsatisfactory, customers must contact us
promptly us by
email or phone. We will then discuss the matter and arrange for return to
us or with the manufacturer.
We will provide the correct return address. Customers must not ship an item back to us before clearing with one of our staff members.
If a UPS claim needs to be conducted, we will begin the process and maintain
contact as we receive information from UPS. Do not call UPS, call CMT and let us
handle the claim and paperwork.
RETURNING NON-DAMAGED ITEMS:
We have the option of choosing to accept or not accept non-damaged items, due to
the customer changing their mind. As a general rule, within 30 days of the
shipping date we will offer a refund of an unopened & undamaged product with a
20% restocking fee. Certain exceptions apply. For example, we will
not refund special order items, undecorated models, consignment sales etc.
RETURN ADDRESS:
Once we have given you authorization to return product, then the return address
is based on where you live.

NEW CUSTOMER DISCOUNT:
All new customers will receive 10% off their first in stock order or
reservation. This 10% does not apply to sale or consigned items or eBay
auctions. Any
subsequent orders are not subject to the 10% discount.
WANT LIST PROCEDURE:
When you contact us regarding a model available for sale that is listed on our
Want List we require the amount you would like to receive, the condition of the
model/box and running quality. We ask you have photos of the model ready
in case the potential customer would like to see them. Our selling price
is 20% added to your price.
We contact the customer who submitted the Want List with the details of the
model and await his response to purchase, decline or counter offer. CMT
then contacts you with the details of the customer's reply and we work towards
completing a deal both parties are happy with.
The model is then shipped to Canadian Model Trains where we inspect the model.
Once the testing is completed and the model has passed we send the model on to
the customer. Once the model is paid for, the consignor can choose to be
paid by check or have the funds transferred to their customer account with CMT.

USE OF PHOTOS:
Canadian Model Trains Inc. invests its time in taking high quality pictures
for use on its website, in marketing materials, in magazine ads, and for other
purposes. All pictures are the exclusive property of Canadian Model Trains
Inc. These pictures are for the use of our customers and potential customers to
provide them with various angle views of models to aid in their decision to
purchase particular models. We have over 10,000 pictures on our website.
For non-personal use, we require that the individual contact us and request
in writing, prior to their use, our approval to use specific pictures. We will
confirm back in writing our decision. Commercial use of these pictures by
anyone other than Canadian Model Trains Inc. is prohibited.
